Brad Douglas Paisley was born October 28th, 1972 and is an American country music singer-songwriter and country guitarist that will be in Toronto July 22nd at the Molson Amphitheatre starting at 4 pm. Brad’s music style is in between Southern and Country rock and most of his songs are laced with a bit of humour and pop culture. In 2008 Brad became the CMA and ACM Male Vocalist of the Year winner and the release with the 1999 album Who Needs Pictures he has recorded seven studio albums with each of them certifying gold or higher by the RIAA. Brad has charted 25 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and out of  14 of those they have reached #1 with a record 10 consecutive singles reaching the top spot on the charts.

HISTORY

After Brad was awarded with a  full-paid ASCAP scholarship from Belmont University he signed a songwriting contract with EMI Music Publishing. In 2000 Brad won the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award, the Academy of Country Music’s best new male vocalist trophy and he also received his first Grammy Award nomination of that year for Best New Artist. In 2002 Brad won the CMA Music Video of the Year and three other singles from the same album charted top 10. In 2003 Brad released his third album Mud on the Tires and the albums title track became #1 on the Billboard charts in 2004.Whiskey Lullaby reached #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks, #41 on the Billboard Hot 100 and also won several awards for the music video which than was rated #2 on the 100 Greatest Music Videos by CMT in 2008. In 2006 the album Time Well Wasted won the Country Music Association Award for Best Album and also won album of the year at the 2006 ACM Awards. At the 2006 Grammy Awards he won four awards; Best Country Album, Best Country Song, Best Country Instrumental and Best Country Vocal, Male. Brads fifth studio album 5th Gear was released in 2007 and the first four singles all became #1 on the country music single charts which made Brad have seven straight number one hits. At the 2008 Grammy Awards he won three awards from the album 5th Gear; Best Country Album, Best Country Collaboration and Best Country Instrumental. Also in 2008 Brad won his first Grammy award for Best Country Instrumental.
