An English alternative rock band from Batte, East Sussex that was formed in 1995 will be hitting up the T.Dot. You heard right. Keane will be at the Molson Amphitheatre on Friday, July 20th, 2010 at 3:30 PM. Keane consists of Tim Rice-Oxley (Piano/Backing Vocals), Tom Chaplin (Lead Vocals) and Richard Hughes (Drums/Percussion).

Keane had a huge mainstream of success with the release of their debut album, Hopes and Fears that was released in 2004. The album won a bunch of award and was considered the second best selling British album all year. The release of their second studio album Under the Iron Sea also continued the bands success which topped the album charts in the UK and debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart. The third album Perfect Symmetry was released in 2008 and in that year also both albums Hopes and Fears and Under the Iron Sea were voted the best British albums ever. With Keane, The Beatles, Oasis and Radiohead the four bands were the only artists that had two albums in the top 20. The band Keane are known for having used piano as the lead instrument instead of guitars which made them different from other rock bands. Since the start of Keane’s career they have sold over 10 million albums worldwide.

An American heavy metal band from Huntington Park, California that was formed in 1981 will be in Toronto. You know it! Slayer will be at the Molson Amphitheatre on Thursday, July 29th at 6:40 PM. The Slayer line up consists of Tom Araya(Lead Vocals/Bass), Jeff Hanneman(Guitar), Kerry King(Guitar) and Dave Lombardo(Drums). With the release of the 1986 Reign in Blood, Slayer rose in fame and was credited as one of the “Big Four” of thrash metal acts, which included Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Their musical trails include rapid tremolo picking, atonal guitar solos, double bass drumming and bellow vocals. Slayer’s lyrics mostly cover the tops of serial killers, Satan, religion and warfare which actually generated album bans, delays, lawsuits and hard criticism.

Since 1983 Slayer has released two live albums, one box set, four videos, two extended plays and eleven studio albums and which four of them have actually received gold in the States. Slayer has received four Grammy nominations; one in 2007 for the song “Eyes of the Insane” and also one in 2008 for the song “Final Six“. Slayer has played numerous of festivals worldwide that include Unholy Alliance, Download and Ozzfest.

An English rock musician, singer-songwriter and composer will be in Toronto this year. You heard right! Roger Waters will be at the Air Canada Centre on September 15th, 16th and 18th at 8 PM. George Roger Waters was born on September 6th 1943 in Great Bookham, Leatherhead, Surrey, UK. Waters is known for gaining his fame as the songwriter, lyricist, bass player, co-lead vocalist and one of the members of the rock band Pink Floyd. The departure of Pink Floyd former vocalist Syd Barrett in 1968 - Waters eventually became Pink Floyd’s primary lyricist, songwriter and creative figure. Pink Floyd achieved great success in the 70s with the albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. Waters also had a solo career with the three albums The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, Radio K.A.O.S., and Amused to Death. In 1990 Waters had one of the greatest rock concerts in history -  The Wall - Live in Berlin where over 200,000 people attended. In 2005 he released Ça Ira which was an opera in 3 different acts and he also reunited with Nick Mason, Richard Wright, and David Gilmour from Pink Floyd at the 2005 Live 8 concert.

Sublime* with Rome in Toronto

American reggae fusion band from Long Beach, California which was formed in 1988 will be coming to T.Dot. You betcha! Sublime with Rome will be at the Kool Haus on Friday, August 20 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are not only cheap, but they are selling like no tomorrow and if you were smart you would get them today. The Sublime line up consists of Eric Wilson(Bass), Bud Gaugh(Drums) and newest member Rome Ramirez(Vocals/Guitar). The older vocalist and guitarist, Bradley Nowell died of a heroin over dose in 1996 - which split the band up.

Since the formation of Sublime in 1988 they have released three studio albums, one live album, five compilation albums, three EPs and one box set. In 1992 when they released 40 Oz. to Freedom it became fairly popular, but they did not become a commercial success until 1996 with their self-titled third album which was released after Nowell’s death making the album peak at #13 on the Billboard 200. As of 2009 Sublime is known for selling over 17 million albums worldwide which includes about 10 million in the States alone. With the newest member of the band Rome - after performing in 2009 at Cypress Hill’s Smoke Out Festival a judge banned the lineup for using the Sublime name, making the new band perform as Sublime with Rome.

Michael Steven Bublé will be at the Air Canada Centre on Aug 10 and 11 at 8 PM. Tickets are flying fast and you do not want to miss you chance to see this one amazing event. Michael has won many awards - 2 Grammy Awards, multiple Juno Awards and his first album reached the top 10 in the UK and Canada. When Michael found worldwide success with the albums It’s Time and Call Me Irresponsible they became a huge success and reached #1 on the Canadian Albums Chart, U.S. Billboard 200 chart, Australian ARIA Albums Chart and also the European charts. American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist that was born on October 20, 1950 in Gainesville, Florida is coming to Toronto. Heck yes! The Thomas Earl Petty - Tom Petty along with The Heartbreakers will be at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday, August 25th, 2010 at 7:30 PM for the Mojo Tour. Tickets are flying through and you do not want to miss this incredible show. Tom Petty is normally associated with numerous of instruments such as; Rickenbacker 660/12, Fender Stratocaster, Vox Mark III, Fender Telecaster and Gibson Dove.

History

Tom Petty has recorded large amounts of hit singles as a solo artist and with the group The Heartbreakers. Most of his music hits have become very popular with the younger generation and continues to have sold-out shows. Throughout Tom Petty’s career he has sold over 60 million albums worldwide. In 1994 Tom Petty released the album Wildflowers that sold approximately 2.5 million copies in the U.S. alone and in 1999 Tom Petty along with The Heartbreakers released the album Echo that reached #10 in the U.S. album charts. Also in 1999 Tom Petty received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to the recording industry.

Two incredible American rock bands will be at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on August 25th, 2010 at 7:00 PM. That’s right! Disturbed that was formed in 1996 from Chicago, Illinois and Avenged Sevenfold that was formed in 1999 from Huntington Beach, California will be rockin’ the stage in Toronto. The band Disturbed consists of  David Draiman(Lead Vocals), Dan Donegan(Guitar), Mike Wengren(Drums) and John Moyer(Bass Guitar). The group Avenged Sevenfold consists of M. Shadows(Lead Vocals), Zacky Vengeance(Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals), Synyster Gates(Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals), Johnny Christ(Bass/Backing Vocals). History About Disturbed

Ever since the band formed they have sold over 11 million albums worldwide which made them one of the fast grossing rock bands since the earlier years. About three studio albums all debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. In 2000 after signing with record company Giant Records they released the album The Sickness that peaked at #29 on the Billboard 200 and has sold over 4 million copies in the US alone.
In 2002 Disturbed released the album Believe that reached #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Disturbs third studio album Ten Thousand Fists sold 238,000 copies in the first week, reached #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and certified platinum which shipped one million units. In 2008 the band released Indestructible which became Disturbs third #1 on the Billboard 200 charts.

In 2005 the release of Avenged Sevenfold’s third major album, City of Evil debuted #30 on the Billboard 200 charts which sold over 30, 000 copies in its first week. From the album the lead single Bat Country reached #2 on the Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Charts, #6 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Charts, the video made #1 on MTV’s Total Request Live and became Avenged Sevenfold’s first gold record  and in 2009 it was certified platinum. The bands forth album that was Self-Titled was released in 2007 that became #4 on the Billboard 200 charts, sold over 500,000 copies and was awarded Album of the Year at the Kerrang! Awards.

An American vocal group that was  formed in 1993 from Orlando, Florida is coming to Toronto. Old school news..Yeah! The Backstreet Boys will be at the Molson Amphitheatre on Saturday, August 14th 2010 at 7:30 PM. They are still kicking it hard today and the tickets are selling fast - if you are an all time fan I would recommend getting yours today. The group consists of A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and Nick Carter. The band has sold over 130 million records worldwide which made them the biggest selling group of all time.

HISTORY

In 1996 they released the album Backstreet Boys and the single from the album I’ll Never Break Your Heart reached the gold status for selling 250,000 units and they won a platinum record for selling 500,000 units for the album. In 1997 they released Backstreet’s Back with the single Quit Playing Games With My Heart which reached #2 on Billboard Hot 100 and eventually won platinum-award for selling over one million units. The U.S. self-titled debut peaked at #4 and sold 14 million copies and in Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria it peaked at #1. The album Millennium was released in 1999 and was entered #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and sold over 1,134,000 copies in the first week. It was said in 1999 that Millennium was the best selling album in the U.S. which sold 9,445,732 albums and remained on the Billboard charts for 93 weeks which eventually sold over 12 million copies and was certified platinum 13 times. In 2007 they released Unbreakable and opened at #7 on the Billboard 200 which sold 81,000 copies in the first week of its release.

Grammy Award nominated American alternative rock band that was formed in 1989 in Los Angeles is coming to Toronto. Indeed! Hole will be at the Sound Academy at 9:00 pm on Saturday, July 10th 2010. The current line up for the band is Courtney Love(Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Micko Larkin(Lead Guitar), Shawn Dailey(Bass) and Stu Fisher(Drums/Percussion). In 1994 the album Live Through This was said to be one of the greatest albums of the decade.

HISTORY

Love always joked about the name of the band Hole when her ex husband Kurt Cobain said it was his favourite bar. In 1992 with an eight-album contract they signed with Geffen Records. In 1993 the released the album Live Through This that went multi-platinum and was hailed Album of the Year by Spin magazine. Hole’s original music included thirteen singles, six Grammy nominations, three LPs, three EPs, one compilation album and 10 music videos. March 16th of this year Hole released the single, Skinny Little Bitch from the album Nobody’s Daughter that debuted #32 on the Billboard’s Alternative Singles Chart.
