Long behold: former singer from Destiny’s Child, are you ready for it? Born in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé  Knowles known as: a model, actress, record producer, R&B singer songwriter enrolled herself into numerous performing arts schools and was recognized as a singer/ dancer in the late 1990′s. June 2003 she released her first solo album ‘Dangerously in Love’ and was known as one of the best albums released that year and also earned her 5 Grammy Awards in 2004. This year she won the Outstanding Female Artist at the Image Awards and is currently touring across the world!

On July 20th, 2009 Beyoncé will be performing at the Molson Amphitheatre at 7:30 PM. Currently she has won 10 Grammy Awards and has released 3 solo albums worldwide. She has become a true role model for younger teen aged girls and is known for one of the hottest celebrities today.

Beyoncé’s incredible voice will lighten up the stage, so get your tickets today!

Currently they are signed with ‘Ferret Music’ where they were formed in South Florida; and they are on their way to Toronto!  You know it!  Poison The Well will be at The Opera House on August 11, 2009.  Originally they were named ‘An Acre Lost’ where shortly after they changed their name to ‘Poison The Well’.  They released their first album ‘Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder’ in 1998 where record label ‘Trustkill Records’ recognized PWT, who were known as a very strong underground record label in the US.

Poison The Well released the first album with ‘Trustkill Records’ called ‘The Opposite of December… A Season of Separation’ and was known for one of the greatest hard-core albums of all time ranking #8. Soon after they released yet another album, ‘Tears From The Red’ and became very popular, they signed with record label ‘Atlantic Records’ where they reached a major label debut with ‘You Come Before You.’

This past February they toured with ‘Underoath’ and ‘Everytime I Die’ and will be releasing ‘The Tropic Rot’ July 7th with ‘Ferret Music’

American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California is coming to Toronto!  That’s right!  METALLICA will be at the Air Canada Centre October 26th and 27th.  Metallica is known for their outrageous performances on stage while they let their fans bash their heads with thrills!

In 1983 they recorded their first album ‘Metal Up Your Ass’ which was changed to ‘Kill ‘Em All’ shortly after, due to conflicts of the record company.  ‘Kill ‘Em All’ reached the Billboard charts at #120.  In 1984 Metallica released their second studio album ‘Ride the Lightning’ which became #100 on the Billboard charts.  The 3rd album, ‘Master of Puppets’ became #29 on the Billboard 200 charts in 1986 and was also certified gold with 6 times platinum in 2003.  ‘And Justice For All’ was released in 1988 shortly after the tragedy of band member Burton where the album became #6 on the Billboard 200 charts and was certified platinum a few weeks after the release.  In 2009 Metallica was inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame and it was mentioned they would be touring worldwide!

Progressive metal band that is known for many awards from music instruction magazines is coming to Toronto. That is correct!  Dream Theater will be at the Molson Amphitheatre August 14th, 2009.  Formed in 1985 as Majesty, they shortly after changed their name with a different line up; this formed the name Dream Theater.

A very well known band for their instrumentally enlightening music, Dream Theater’s first album in 1992, ‘Images and Words’ was the best selling gold album making them reach #61 on the Billiboard 200 charts.  In 1994 the release of ‘Awake’ and 2002 the release of ‘Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence’ became #32 and #46 on the Billboard 200 charts, receiving the most positive reviews.  2007 ‘Systematic Chaos’ entered the charts at #19, making Dream Theater reach selling over 2 million albums in the US and over 8 million records worldwide.  This year they will be finishing up their 10th studio album, ‘Black Clouds & Silver Linings’ and releasing it this June.

Known for having 5 record labels that include: Columbia, Nitro, Epitaph, Nemesis and Black Label, The Offspring is bringing their hard sound back to the stage! To use a metaphor for punk and baseball, Green Day is to softball bats as Offspring is to baseball bats, in other words, Offspring rocks! Formed in California at Huntington Beach, 1984, they are best recognized as a punk rock band that has 8 studio ablums and has sold over 50 million albums to date! This July 2nd The Offspring will be at the Molson Amphitheatre making the fans crave for more!

Now for a little background information on The Offspring.  The band consists of: Dexter (lead vocalist/guitarist), Noodles (lead rhythm guitarist/vocals), Greg (bassist/vocals) and Pete (drums) have been a complete band since 2007. Their best selling independent  label album was released in 1994, which was called “Smash” and sold over 16 million records. They promised to all of the fans that they will be touring across the US in 2009 and possibly releasing their 9th album.  Can’t wait!

Def Leppard hitting up Toronto

Ready to rock?  An English rock band who was formed in Sheffield in the year of 1977,  Def Leppard is coming to the Molson Amphitheatre on July 4th for the all ages show. The band known as the top best selling rock back in the 1980′s was recognized as #31 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.

Def Leppard was recognized in 1977 as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement and sold over 65 million albums worldwide in the 1980′s. In 1992 they released their 5th album ‘Adrenalize’ and it became number one in the UK and US album charts. The release of the album ‘Slang’ was recognized by Q Magazine as one of the top ten albums of 1996. Presently they are touring all across the world with bands such as Poison and Cheap Trick in over 50 cities.

KISS @ Casino Rama

Face paint, smoking guitars, spitting blood, fire breathing and exploding fireworks…well you get the idea? Okay, so on July 20th and July 21st the one and only American rock band KISS will be at Casino Rama in Orillia. Awarded 24 gold albums, creating over 19 records and selling 85 million albums to date, KISS is a legendary rock band known for their stylish talent in the early 1970′s.

Bill Aucoin a former TV director saw KISS perform all through the summer of 1973 and suggested as him being a manager for the band, making the band sign their first record deal with Casablanca Records. The same year they released their first album and premeired at the Academy of Music in New York City. In 1994 ‘Creatures of the Night’ their biggest album to date, won #45 on the gold charts in the US. In 1996 the Kiss Alive/Worldwide Tour began at the Tiger Stadium in Detroit with over 13,000 fans and making the tour last 192 shows earning $43.6 million. Last summer they headlined numerous of festivals and played to a record audience of about 400,000 people. In 2008 Simmons and Stanley confirmed they would be touring across North America in 2009.

Nickelback in Toronto

One of the most successful Canadian rock bands known to date; Nickelback has sold roughly 31 million records worldwide. Chad Kroeger along with his two brothers Mike and Brandon Kroeger (former drummer) created the band in Hanna, Alberta which also included the band member Ryan Peake in 1995. Nickelback was ranked as the 11th best selling music act of the Millineum and came second foreign act in the United States.

On August 9th, 2009 Nickelback along with Hinder, Papa Roach, and Saving Abel will be performing at the Molson Amphitheatre. Nickelback’s 4th album ‘Silver Side Up’ was released in 2001 including the single ‘How You Remind Me’ making #1 on both American and Canadian charts. Nickelbacks 5th album ‘All the Right Reasons’ produced 5 US 100 top 20 singles and 3 of them; ‘Photograph,’ ‘Rockstar,’ and ‘Savin’ Me’ won US 100 top 10 singles making the album sell over 7 million copies to date.

Nickelback has signed with many record companies such as EMI(Canada), Roadrunner Records and as of 2008 they signed with Live Nation for tour’s, recordings and merchandise.

Dave Matthews Band in Toronto

Instrumental rock/jazz fushion band are coming to Toronto! That’s right on June 9, 2009 at 7pm the Dave Matthews Band will be performing at the all ages show in the Molson Amphitheatre. With the history the band has of rock and jazz music that is known all across America, they have became a hit since 1991 where the band was formed in Virginia.

Guitarist, singer and song-writer Dave Matthews worked for a bar named Miller’s in the 90′s and watched many incredible musicians play; developing an interest in being a musician himself. With him writing his own songs and playing guitar he became encouraged to talk with Carter Beauford, who was a local drummer that played in the bar. Then shortly after he approached LeRoi Moore, a local jazz musician and they began to work on Matthews songs together, creating the Dave Matthews Band.

Fans of the Dave Matthews Band are buying their tickets fast, so I would hurry up and get them today. The show is getting close and you do not want to miss them!
