Outrageous fashion not so commonly seen on the streets, in combination with new artistic concepts and musical melody will be the event of the week in the cultural field of Toronto, ON this April 21-24th, 2009. With numerous artists ranging from musicians to painters to designers, they will all come together for this annual event that gives the much-deserved exposure to underground artists. Toronto Alternative Fashion Week, also known as FAT, will open the eyes of many and make a mark on our world!
Artists of all kinds from all around the world gather for this meeting to put on a great show and expose their visions. Not only are they sharing their own creations, but a powerful underlying meaning to these concepts that reflect our world issues today. There will be a heavy focus on the destruction our society provokes in so many different aspects. The best form of understanding is witnessing the show and ideas with your own eyes, leading to your own personal interpretation. I am sure you will take something meaningful from this experience that will alter your perspective, broaden your horizons, making you a more informed individual in this world of chaos and false truth.
The event will take place in the Distillery Historic District within the Fermenting Cellar, in Toronto where the setting will be nothing but suitable for this overbearingly truthful concept. Throughout the week you will be able to catch runway collections, performance artists, DJ’s and reality, face to face. Considering the endless thoughts involved in this event, I think any human being would find relation within this series. With themes like our planet earth, gutter lifestyle and our own merging culture, their is something for everyone.
For tickets to this event, the advance day pass is $20, $25 at door, and $55 for a week pass. Well worth it! Get all the details you need here and come open your mind to new art, forgotten issues, a revolution in itself.

A couple months ago we announced that we’ve been working on improving and adding “party features” to our website. Today we are excited to have officially launched The Party Forum Beta Version; a discussion forum for people to find local hot spots such as bars, nightclubs and restaurants. The forum allows easy access to any user browsing the content and if they wish to take part in the discussions they must register.
Registered users can post comments to places they’ve been too, upload their party photos, and add their favourite bar or club if it’s not on the listing.
There is also a general community section to cater to everyone’s interests and classifieds for any individual or business to advertise.

Please bare with us as the forum is still in beta stages but very functional. We plan on having user submissions for bars/clubs, as well as polls to rate these establishments.
We have also updated our home page with “Hottest Events“, which links to our BLOG events and/or The Party Forum, and “Recent Discussions” which shows all of the recent activities on the forum.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve the forum or website, please email us at info@partyaftermath.com

Since 1999 over 500 cities across Canada have signed up to celebrate The Global Marijuana March(GMM), also known as Million Marijuana March(MMM). The Global Marijuana March is a celebration of people’s personal lifestyle choices of smoking pot and is held every first Saturday of May throughout the world. This year so far there has been 246 cities that are participating in the annual event and every year it keeps growing rapidly with numerous newcomers joining.

The Global Marijuana March allows ‘Marijuana Enthusiasts’, a.k.a Pot Head’s, to come together and parade the streets of their local townships while smoking weed legally, or at the very least the police look the other way for this one day. During this celebration people walk the roads in support of legalizing Marijuana, protesting that it really isn’t any different from our legalized drug or substance; alcohol, and socialize with friends to have a good time.

On May 2, 2009 at Queens Park North in Toronto their will be over 20,000 people marching to express their opinions on the subject, with 50+ vendors & exhibitors, four stages of live music & speakers and of course lots of munchies!

For more information you can visit the official Global Marijuana March website to find out about other cities participating.
