Nightlife Events: News Years Eve in Toronto

With New Years Eve right around the corner I’ve heard a lot of people asking their friends “what are you doing for New Years?”. That seems to be the common question lately and yet people really just “don’t know…”

I understand that everyone in Barrie might not be around and want to go elsewhere, so to give everyone some ideas of what to do and where to go, we’ll provide some New Years nightlife in the Toronto / GTA area.

The Drake Hotel - 1150 QUEEN ST. W. TORONTO, ONTARIO M6J1J3 - View Map

To start off, this is probably one of my personal favourite places to go in Toronto, The Drake Hotel. From what I can see, there is a dress code in place and people are expected to slip into something fine. There will be live music with Roberto Rosenman, Dr Baggie, and DJs Andy Capp and Rod Skimmins.

Tickets are about $75 per person but there are discounts for booking in advanced and to the first 100 people. If you have a special someone out there, this is the place to take them for that special New Year kiss.

For more information visit the official website of The Drake Hotel.

Republik Nightclub - 259 RICHMOND ST. W. TORONTO, ONTARIO M5V 3M6 - View Map

This is going to be an interesting event, the Republik Nightclub NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY 2009, featuring Tony Monaco to host the evening live on Z103.5, Toronto’s hit radio station. The main floor will be presenting some house, R&B, Mash Up and Euro style music, then moving onto the Vision Room, will be playing Hip Hop and R&B with DJ Dave Campbell. This venue is going to be packed, so get your tickets quickly before it’s too late! Tickets are $45.00 before December 30th and they’ve sold out in advanced every year. So if I were you I wouldn’t show up at the door on New Years Eve expecting to get in.

There is a semi-formal dress code and the doors open sharp at 9:00PM. Also, for all those party animals out there, the Republik doesn’t close until 4:00AM the next morning so bring your drinking hats! Oh yeah.. semi-formal, drinking hats.

Six Degrees Lounge - 2335 YONGE ST. TORONTO, ONTARIO M4P 2C8 - View Map

There will be over 800 people coming in from the Toronto/GTA area to attend the Six Degrees Lounge event in Toronto. There are 3 different tickets for you to select, ranging in price from $35 per ticket upwards of $75 if you need to make travel arrangements with them to get to the location. Apparently everyone attending is really going to get their monies worth with a lot of food and booze, music, prizes and other giveaways.

They promise for people attending that their lounge is to be a truly unique & intimate experience with an elite upscale atmosphere and over 12,000 SQ FT of chocolate theme VIP areas, stainless steel bars and plush leather couches. This event has a lot to it, so click the image for more information or visit the Six Degrees Lounge website.

Nightlife Review: The Bank – Barrie Ontario

This must be the most talked about downtown club in Barrie right now; The Bank, Lounge/Nightclub. These guys have recently been renovating the former building of the TD Visa Bank right downtown on 66 Dunlop St. E. and are turning it into one of the hottest night clubs around. The Queens, another hot nightclub / sports bar, has always had a lot of attraction over the years and there weren’t any other competing clubs that got the same amount of people out on the weekends. Now they have some competition!

This unique club provides three inside levels with a roof top patio, and a VIP entrance for bottle service. It is owned by a very successful corporation that has created some pretty interesting places in other cities, such as the Rama and Windsor Casino updates, Gretzky’s, Hard Rock Cafe, and Skydome Club level.

The Bank’s plans are to have the grand opening by middle to late December and will be keeping the public updated. So far “PAM’s” initial reaction to this new club is positive. It seems as though it will not only help our city and be a great attraction but also a club with professional and organized staff, who know their jobs. Finally, there is somewhat of a dress code. Men… you’re now going to have to dress up a little, or at least try, to get into this establishment. Good luck!

Visit The Barrie Bank here or check out their Party Aftermath Group. “This is going to be sexy!”

Nightlife: The Party in Barrie Ontario – It’s a Happening Place

Barrie, Ontario has always been a great place to party, especially the downtown main strip where there are countless amounts of bars, clubs, lounges and restaurants. You name it; there is an establishment for everyone whether you’re a college student or part of the older crowd or have a particular style.

If you compare the nightlife scene to other cities around us, you will find that many of them don’t have such wild parties as we Barrie people do! Now I’m not talking about wild college parties in a house, I am talking right downtown.

On Friday’s and Saturday’s the Barrie downtown strip always has some sort of nightlife events going on with tons of people to enjoy the party nightlife.

If you’ve never been to our hometown, Barrie, then you should definitely check it out if you’re in the area. It’s a unique place that has greatly helped the development of Barrie for several years and has be one of the hottest tourism spots in Ontario.
